Australians have been spiritually bankrupt for sometime now and many of us would cite Howard’s last ten years of governance as a valid reason. I would like to offer that it was Howard’s lack of toilet training in his formative years that’s to blame. Birmo eloquently describes this condition as Hubris – being convinced of one’s own excellence despite evidence to the contrary. I prefer to refer to it as the ‘my shit don’t stink’ syndrome.
