It’s that time of the year again!
I’ve just had a wonderful, overdue delivery arrive at my house - mostly thanks to the extra employment opportunity given by a saucy nameless wench, much appreciated x - and now I need to feed it and make it festively plump with brilliant tunes.
But what?
Please, if you can find the time, recommend me a play list - long or short as you like, from any era or genre - because I urgently require some inspiration.
As per usual, my silence in the comment threads is not an indication of my lack of interest or feelings of adoration toward you for your participation. I am watching with an eagle-eye (two of them!) from afar, mark my words.

“Shout to the top” by Style Council.
Just keep playing it over and over again. Guaranteed to perk you up or make you go mad. Probably the latter.

Random tunage…
Santa Esmeralda - Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood (from the Kill Bill soundtrack, goes for 10 or so minutes and you will cream your pants) Garbage - 13 X Forever Save Ferris (well, anything by them as I love them, but try Come On Eileen, or The Only Way To Be, Mistaken, etc) Republica - Pub Pusher Hoku (failed Hawaiian popstar, try Another Dumb Blonde or How Do I Feel?) Electric Six - Radio Gaga (possibly the worst cover ever made) Le Tigre - Deceptacon, TKO, New Kicks, etc Sage Francis - Slow Down Gandhi POISON - UNSKINNY BOP. OH YES. hairs Anything at all by the Dresden Dolls, but The Jeep Song sounds very pretty and I love it And stuff by bis. They sound like completely different bands depending what they’re up to though - The End Starts Today, Chicago for them being ‘arty,’ Eurodisco, Popstar Kill, Action and Drama, Dinosaur Germs, etc for red-cordial-drinking era. Aimee Allen - Revolution, because it’s from one of my favourite shit shows of all time. Also Veruca Salt stuff because Louise Post is totally awesome (new stuff like Disconnected, Only You Know, blah blah) Or side with Nina Gordon! Now I Can Die, Badway…
Now you must excuse me. Excess consumption of chewing gum has had a laxative effect.

“Galang” by M.I.A. The best pop/hip hop/electro song of the decade thus far.
Or simply download her album, Arular.

Oh and your last entry said that you thought Kylie’s version of Physical was amazing.
Well, you NEED to download Goldfrapp’s cover of it, called “UK Girls [Physical]”. It’s much better. Slow, sexy and Bond theme-esque.

Erm.
Now don’t get mad. Although Tiffani Wood’s new single “Devil in your soul” is not very good, one of the remixes is shiny 80s pop perfection. The “Moustache Remix”, is the one you’ll be wanting (and the one she should have put as track one on the single). You will like it!
I think I’ve heard this song on the radio. Is it the one that goes “is it the deeeeeevil in your soul” in the chorus?
But yeh I really like that song :) I havn’t heard the remix yet though.
really!! i heard the song playing on australian first and i thought it was really catchy, but playing on joyFM today they had the remix and that sounded good also. id buy the single for both of the tracks. why dont you think its very good are you not into rock/pop? me myself im an 80’s chick from way back so i can see why u love that version
