Sunday Night Fun

Well, I just finished watching Idol and a report will be duly typed up tomorrow. But I just wanted to say that I reckon tonight’s ARIA’s are going to be gold if the first ten minutes are anything to go by!

Jet looking filthy? Check.

Rove discovering that his jokes really DO suck and his Rove Live audience are actually drugged most weeks? Check.

Rove stealing Conan O’Brien’s moves yet again? Check.

Guy Sebastian thanking God? Check.

It can only get more and more kick arse from here!

Oh… good work!! NOW friggin Rove is stealing snippets from Rowan’s Mr. Bean. I mean the dancing?…

The midget annoys me… simply because nothing is original!

Rove is a testament to this being the lucky country, isn’t he?

Not funny? Complete lack of charisma?

Don’t let THAT stop you being a stand up comedian, radio host, talk show host and awards night MC!

Hmmm. Remind me again why we bother flying out token Yanks to present awards at the ceremony? I know they’re supposed to lend credability to the awards but seriously, BEP may well be mildly retarded methinks.

Ever heard them sing live? Now that is an experience. They should write a book ‘How to become a world-wide success when you sound like a tone deaf strangled cat live’.

Rove started out midly entertaining for me… then it was yeah whatever… and now his purile 3-year-old… er… ness… just starts to grate.

Okay.. that should say mildly.. not “midly”. Proves I’m just as, if not more, retarded than the black eyed peas.

Actually they weren’t that bad until they stopped being underground and hired that useless excuse for a lead singer, whose only claim to fame is she and JT had a bit of a roll in the hay one time, to add sex appeal to break the all important “teeny bopper” market. Commercial Whores.

Hmmm.

I feel a bit whorish plugging old material here, but the Rove\Daryl Somers reference seems to fit.

Jet

*applauds

Jet are commercial whores. They sacked a band member for being not pretty enough…that’s not very ‘rock’ in my book. They are also very derivative…the riff from “Are you gonna be my girl’ is very similar to ‘ballroom blitz’, and their penultimate single “Look what you’ve done’ or whatever it’s called is faux Beatles.

Don’t worry, I will be addressing this “style adoption” in my ARIA round up. Sort of.

Are You Gonna Be My Girl is also very Lust For Life too at times. It’s like a mosaic (I watched the Apprentice, I apologise) of classic rock tunes.

Jet’s “are you going to be my girl” also ripped off the drum riff from “Fuji Song!”

Dunno why the ARIA’s always seem to me like group masturbation , it definetly takes the cake for most asses kissed/second on australian TV , as for Rove=zero personality .

A sister of mine called “Are you gonna be my girl” out on ripping off “Talking ‘bout my generation” song by The Who. Where are all the Rolling Stonesesque journalists from the mid-90s who seemed prone to asking every five minutes: “Is Rock and Roll dead?”. It appears Jet formed their band after being inspired by “Weekend at Bernies”.

That Weekend At Bernies analogy is gold! Especially since it took me about twenty seconds to understand, which makes it both apt and deep, bless you :)

I came up with a theory of how Roll Over DJ was a rip off of Status Quo once but for the life of me, I can’t remember which song of theirs I thought it reminded me of. Frankly, I have no facts to back me up.
