Rubbing Courtney Wrong

court.jpgThe fabulous Australian Idol star Courtney Act (more likable than most of the the people who beat her and made the Final Twelve) is about to release her first single called, delightfully, “Rub Me Wrong”.

According to news.com.au, Courtney “plays a posh and glamorous woman who turns up at a mansion and gives a private performance for the resident, a distinguished man.” Hurrah! It’s got to be more interesting than Shannon’s ‘What About Me’ clip (despite the Condoblin cameo).

Courtney was a breath of fresh air in the first series of Australian Idol, and I would rather have seen her reach the final three than say, oh I don’t know. Someone else. Someone else who isn’t Guy or Shannon.

If you’ve never heard Courtney, you should listen to her performance of You Don’t Own Me, though for my money, it doesn’t get much better than her cover of AC\DC’s You Shook Me All Night Long. Alas, you can’t see a clip of this online. The Australian Idol website explains “due to licensing issues with the song Courtney performed we are unable to offer this clip.” Boo.
