I am sitting in Suges loungeroom and the Big Brother finale is about to kick off. The beloved members of the Melbourne Big Brother Society (MBBS) are crowded around the television, eating cheese and biscuits, supping wine and beer, and screaming wildly at sporadic moments.
I am pleased to be here, sharing this moment, with such fine upstanding citizens.
Time for a snap poll.
WHO SHOULD WIN
Ms Fits - Camilla
Genny B - Jamie
Sugar - Camilla
Hotman - Camilla
Dirty Derek - Jamie
Fluffy - Camilla
Ukulele - Camilla
Jess - Camilla
WHO WILL WIN
Ms Fits - Jamie
Genny B - Jamie
Sugar - Jamie
Hotman - Camilla
Dirty Derek - Jamie
Fluffy - Camilla
Ukulele - Camilla
Jess - Jamie
IN SHORT…
Six out of eight MBBS members believe Camilla is the deserving winner. However, five out of eight believe Jamie will emerge the victor.
Hold your breath, people. Let’s see how we go…
PS: Hotman declared tonight that “if Camilla wins, it means Labor will win the next election”. Which means it’ll definitely be Logan Jamie’s eviction UNLESS THERE IS A (NON HILLSONG) GOD!

But mainly Michael.

bugger. I wanted camilla to win. no tv access, so if someone could fill me in on what the prizes for runner up are that would be muchly appreciated (my brother's convinced 2nd will get a car, holiday, scooter, a gazillion phones etc.., I think big brother's too cheap.

I'm soooo glad I taped the finale, it's fascinatingly funny watching Camilla kind of have a meltdown into whiney(oh my hair, oh my dress, oh me, me, me) and everybody trying to avoid her, and the final vision of the announcement where little miss entitled and it's my house thinks she a shoe in to win, Jamie thinks Cam's going to win too, and hooray it's not her. There's excellent snarky stuff to watch in this finale, plus Maxie & Dave dancing on podiums in pirate outfits. And it's full of strange dynamics - the orwell quote (yeah right, honesty, funny stuff) BB speech to Hms profiling other hosts - hmm Gretel is in trouble Michael - mentioning JOhn & Ash whenever he could & setting off all the beeping. Fascinating werid stuff, & to think I once actually could feel something for these people (Timmy!Timmy!Timmy!). Since they broke my heart last year I am dead inside; & then they compounded it with this years crap. Lets hope next year is spectacularly bad & it self destructs in an explosive way not wimpy.

BB06 is no more, but it lives on in our memories. A brief eulogy:
Background music: Danielle’s ‘Under The Radar’ – hmm, maybe not!
I knew you three months, and in that time you made me laugh and cry; yawn and sigh.
Some who didn’t really know you at all – John Howard, Kim Beazley, Rove McManus, and most of the media – were scathing. Your Adults Only show was forcibly removed (and John Howard isn’t done with his axe).
But viewers who knew you well – over a million of us – saw things quite differently, going on the journey with the Housemates.
Thanks to AO, we found out that Dino got to third base with Danielle (he’s allegedly since scored a home run!), and we thought that Krystal’s made-up chicken technique actually sounded pretty wild...
And there’s no better example of why you were important to Aus culture than your treatment of David & Sharif’s reunion and the rapturous crowd response.
We will do our best to ensure that your son, BB07, thrives, and gets to know his cousin BBUK really well. And we won’t rest until there’s a new AO (screening sometime after 11pm this time).
Rest in peace.

Lucky buggers in NSW you can see Timmy tomorrow night- if somebody does go please post a report.
LET’S EVICT BIG BROTHER?! It’s the show that brought the “turkey slap” to Australians everywhere. Derided by many but loved by more, Big Brother is an established cultural phenomenon and the flagship of the new millennium’s most pervasive television genre – reality television.
But has Big Brother gone too far? Calls from the Prime Minister, media commentators and church groups to scrap the show have reached fever pitch, following last month’s sex-charged scandal.
Is Big Brother the embodiment of a moral vacuity that has gripped Western society? A daring social experiment? Or just a damned good perve?

Amy, that’s SO true. Sometimes I like a thick, cool vanilla milkshake with a straw. And I suck hard.
I’m guessing you blow well?

Amy, I notice that on the turkey-slap thread you wrote:
“They [John & Ashley] should be ashamed of themselves. We women have to fight against this type of thing every day and for them as role models to people just shows what pigs they are.”
Guess you’re kicking yourself now that you didn’t get your facts straight first?
Big Brother Australia might not be perfect, but BB06 has done a lot of good in terms of spreading tolerance and understanding, as well as highlighting an alarming lack of tolerance and understanding from John Howard, Kim Beazley and you.
“I never judge anybody and I never judged John Howard, so why should he judge me in the show?” – Camilla Severi
