The sharpest observer of Auspopculture, Ausculture Jess, has blogged the sad news (for Lefty Tim at least) that BB Hotness Kate is a bit of a Howard supporter. (Although, like Ausculture Jess, believing that you need to have politically compatible rela... [<__trans phrase="Read More">]

She fucking does what?! Dammit... fucking Libs!
I guess all we can hope is that BB locks her in the rewards room with Timbo. Then I'm sure all can be resolved post haste!

The 18:52 entry -Tim and Kate return to a debate they had several days ago about the rights and wrongs of the war in Iraq. Kate says she thinks John Howard was justified in the decisions he made regarding the invasion of Iraq and she supports Australia's involvement in the war. Tim, obviously, disagrees with her.
While I'm gutted, I am also grateful this was brought to my attention via email otherwise, who knows where this "How GOOD is Kate now?!" mania may have led?
Posted by: Jess | June 19, 2005 6:08 PM
It's a tragedy isn't it? Cause how fucking hot is she as BadCopKate?!?!
Posted by: katy | June 19, 2005 7:02 PM
For a long time, I hoped that being something of a hornbag, Kate was just being ironic in her introduction video when she said "my hero is Margaret Thatcher".
But then the evidence mounted against her... and even though we may all dream of mounting against her (yes, especially if she wears that saucy copper's outfit), ya gotta draw the line somewhere.
Course we can still have casual sex with her, or even better kidnap & brainwash her Patti Hearst style, but in the meantime...
REASONS TO HATE KATE: 1. Her above mentioned bizarre & unseemly fondness for Maggie T. 2. Her desire to be the female Donald Trump 3. Her FHM modelling aspirations 4. She's an accountant 5. She supports JH and war in Iraq And most importantly of all, 6. SHE DOESN'T LOVE LEFTY TIM.

Wonderful!
I need as many reasons as possible to forget Kate and focus on my beloved Tim.
Posted by: Jess | June 19, 2005 8:14 PM
I think Kate just needs a few nights in the rewards room with some persuasive lefty blogger intruders. She is redeemable!
Posted by: Mark Bahnisch | June 19, 2005 8:38 PM
She's a poster girl for neocon libs, mouthing plattitudes about how much everything 'costs the taxpayer'. Soon she'll be bagging 'political correctness' a la Miranda Devine.
She's more concerned with the cover than the book i.e. She can't see beyond beefcake to what a great guy lefty T is--foolish girl :(
She's become cold and snotty to the other females in the house in order to establish her superiority with the boys. Bleuh!
She thinks Dean is a great guy--double bleuh!

You morons.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but aren't all Australians entitled to their own opinion? Supporting the war hardly makes Kate a bad person - and nor does her concern re misuse of tax-payer funds. What's wrong with not wanting people's income spent on unecessary crap? Seems fair to me.
For all that you heart Tim (so do I, upper lip and predisposition to anarchic punk-chic 'n all), actually think he'd disapprove somewhat of the narrow-mindedness displayed here - 'oh, we aren't allowed to like Kate because of her political opinions.' That's, like, totally one-dimensional, dudes.
It's not like Kate's views are extreme or crazy. After all, roughly 50% of the population (like it or not) holds the same views. So do you hate 50% of Australians? The lady who you buy milk from at the corner shop? Your uni lecturer? and so forth and so on.
Lighten up, peeps
peeps
She looks damn hot in a police woman's outfit, and you know it.
Posted by: Dromana | June 19, 2005 11:15 PM
One dimensional? On this hard-hitting probing Big Brother blog? I DO NOT FUCKING BELIEVE IT!
Bless ya, but blinkered one-eyed ignorant political commentary is my thang. I can't break the habit of a lifetime! Please don't make me!
I still want to touch her up though, regardless of her EVIL politics.
(kidding!)
(not really, but sort of in a respect-everyone-la-la-la-even-when-they're-wrong way)
Posted by: Jess | June 19, 2005 11:17 PM
I disagree. It's ok to love a housemate just for being hot, but not ok to hate one for endorsing the killing of tens of thousands of civilians on national television? Fuck that shit. BB is ALL about being superficial. Year after year the winner of the show is a poster-child for Howard's Australia. Dim-witted, apolitical, battler types. "Aww Gretel, is was jus' such a great loife experience, 'n that." Blech.
Also, Liberal supporters ARE bad people, and you know it.
Posted by: Ruth | June 20, 2005 12:00 AM
well yes I would have to say I hate roughly 50% of the australian population. the milk lady down the shop and uni lecturers included. idiots.
Posted by: flaming goddess | June 20, 2005 12:13 AM
Right on. Australians would be entitled to their own opinion if they actually got it right for once. Four elections on, it's clear they don't have a fucking clue. (I may or may not be counting Big Brother, Idol and Next Top Model results in that tally of elections.)
I promise I'll stop deliberately baiting the Howard voters now. I'm sure they're busy people, what with the sacrificing babies to Satan thing and keeping a sharp eye on interest rates.

I actually really do hate the lady down in the corner shop who sells me my milk, she's a greasy-haired whiny CAPITALIST PIG DOG who charges AT LEAST 40c more for all her produce than the lady down at the other corner shop which is tragically situated an extra 3 minutes walk from my house. I really need to move to the other end of the street, like, pronto.
I say it's more like 70-90% of people are loathesome, depending on the weather. Not only do lots of them vote real bad and that, but have you ever had a close look at the mass of sweaty dullards they've let out to menace the streets?* Tell me, what's not to hate?

This thread explains a lot about what was Not Quite Right about Kate..
My inbuilt right wing conservative Be Alert Not Alarmed warning device was being activated.
And I just had to add a post to a thread where someone quotes the lyrics of the Lovely Jarvis Cocker from PULP... Tim for Prime Minister....

"Supporting the war hardly makes Kate a bad person - and nor does her concern re misuse of tax-payer funds. What’s wrong with not wanting people’s income spent on unecessary crap? Seems fair to me."
For some of us supporting the war is a negative quality. And who decides what is 'unecessary crap' or 'misuse'? For Kate it's left-wing protests, but for others it's funding iraqi invasions.
In any case it's a pathetic response--we still suposedly live in a society not an economy, and I'm more interested in social costs than what 'my income' is funding.
Posted by: Tee | June 20, 2005 2:52 AM
It's simple. every big brother house has a 'most knobbable' chick. Ours is currently Kate. This makes us sad because we can't have a relationship with her due to her political views. We are extra upset because the honourable member for the left (mr tim) is pining for a go of the honourable member for the masses. We know he'd sort her out and re-educate her during her most vulnerable post-coital 'gratitude' time. If only BB would hand over the protein supplements, he'd be in like a shot. Go Tim Dirty's fingers are behind you all the way.

Tee, Mis-use of governement taxes effects society and often create social costs so in many ways your argument is rather flawed.
People should not be judged on their opinions (people should always be entited to them without prejudice), but on their personality and how their actions impact on others.
I'm no fan of this Kate woman. My old wooden chair is more intreging, but saying you don't like her becasue she supports a war or votes a certain way is discriminatary.
Sure, disagree with the woman, but don't discriminate becasue she has an opinion. If you do, your displaying plain narrow mindedness and ignoranace.
Rememember, their are no right or wrongs, just opinions (unfortunately that rule even applies when it comes to war).

For those of us who are facing confliction over wanting to bang Kate, and wanting to bang Kate on the head, yr political beliefs and opinions are actually a part of yr personality.
And THERE IS SO RIGHT AND WRONG, dude: - Hitler: Wrong - Pol Pot: Wrong - KKK: Wrong - Stalin: Wrong - Mark Holden: Wrong - Ivan Milat: Wrong - Saddam Hussein: Wrong* - Ian Hewitson: Wrong - Lefty Tim: SO RIGHT!

From the Behind BB forums (shut up):
It is reported that Kate has said a number of reputedly racist remarks.
She told Rachael that she has never met a decent Aboriginal. When housemates discussed their friendships outside the house, rachael mentioned one of her friends was aboriginal and kate remarked how she has never met a decent aboriginal person in her life and made another horrible and massively racist remark .
at 4 pm yesterday she is reported to have said to vesna that Australia would be a better place without the high population of asians and europeans.
Last week, she said to timmy that to rid the world of war rid the world of the middle east.
She takes numerous stabs at Asians
She commented on Aboriginals being welfare cheats.

Oh if only you idiots had a clue...
"poster child for howards Australians" ?
to the hero below the post ?
Let me clue you in, thats a lot of Australians and it seems you just want to eradicate a large portion of the country to suit your fanatical tripe.
Many of these people actually support you, but dont let real ethics get in the way of your histrionics.
Pfft, you should be on BB so we could see what really makes you tick 24 hrs a day... and not just by a single post on a blog.

So spot-on, nora, about beliefs being part of your personality. What sort of sterile, robotic world do people inhabit who simply react to any expression of opinion as (read in robotic voice please)'that is valid as it is your opinion and you are entitled to it'? I will never understand people jumping to protest 'but she's entitled to her opinion!' when nobody is talking about taking someone's civil rights away, but simply disagreeing with them. Noone is 'discriminating' against Kate, they are just choosing to dislike her.
Did anyone see the hateful, patronising glare in her eyes when Tim was anti-war ranting the other day? Eep.
kat
ps not sure about BB, but Jarvis has admitted to enjoying 'Faking It'.

erm... only 46.7% of people voted for the coalition (primary votes) in the 2001 Federal election. I guess you could call that "roughly 50%"
This means that the dirty scum sucking libs got in on preference deals and the laziness of peeps who follow how-to-vote cards and vote above the line in the senate (those of you who voted for labor above the line voted family first before the greens).
I heart lefty Tim cus I reckon he'd vote below the line.
