Christ Almighty - Wildcard Results

I can’t believe Ngaiire didn’t make it through the Wildcard round into the Top Twelve! Feckin’ judges and public!

Meanwhile Marty, Emelia and Anthony “earned” their place in the Top Twelve. Someone in that trio managed to get by at the expense of Ngaiire which strikes me as poo, but hey - whaddyagonnado? At the very least, I’m relatively grateful that this year’s Top Twelve is infinitely more talented than last year’s bunch.

I think we’re gonna see some interesting stuff over the next few weeks, folks.

Ok you guys are going to get it from a 55yr old. It is a disgrace that Ngaiire has been dumped again ... judges choice and Emelia gets the nod on the bullshit notion that she is what the show is all about ....sorry judges you are off the planet .... Emelia is a nice girl and can sing a bit ...but she is a mile away from being a pop idol .... Ngaiire was by far the better gamble .... you watch when she gets a CD out .... it will sell out in a week. The system is wrong ... Judges should not get a vote at this stage ....after all these SMS and phone messages that the public make cost plenty and make the show producers a fortune .... then ignore the public and disregard the contribution they make. If the Judges had to have a vote to show they have power ... then leave it until after the phone votes for 1st and 2nd have been announced ... and put in your pennys worth. I bet Marty would have won ... Ngaiire 2nd ..... and ofcourse 3rd would have been Anthony or Emelia. The public vote will never be disclosed .... so what is the point in calling ... why are we paying when our votes really do not count for much. STOP DIALING ... and I bet the producers will change the format pretty damn quick ... and perhaps then the right choices will get thier chances. Sorry Ngaiire... the mighty dollar stuffed you .... get a record out now and make ayour own fortune, that is ofcourse Popidol has not got you to sign any funny paperwork ....BET THEY HAVE.

Last year, the performer who consistently just missed out on getting into the finals was Courtney Act. This year, it's Ngaiire. Both, I think, would have made the Top 12 a better place in their respective years - but I think it a great sign that though Ngaiire should have made it through, her not having done so is not the complete talent suck that it would have been, say, last year.

Anyway, she and Ben can now form their own little partnership of musical rejects from AI2 I still love. Which I'm sure is such a great comfort to them.

To blame? I blame Courtney (for stealing her place in the first round) and/or Anthony (for stealing her place from the judges positioning). And what would have been wrong with a 8/4 girl/boy split, judges? Nothing! But you still skipped out on Ngaiire. I hope all your respective friends give you a good whack 'round the ear for missing that chance.

So I know what I'd change if I could - but really, it's a pretty damn good Final 12, when all's said and done. It's just a shame that it could have been that little bit better, but just didn't quite make it.

Yerss. While i think that the Top 30 was stronger than the 30 last year, i'm not so sure about the 12. I don't see any Guy or Shannons amoung then just yet ... i.e. contestents that are kind of unique yet commercial enough to sell mutli-platium records. I do see some great singers but no-one (as yet) in there league. The girl with the birds nest in her hair is very talented, but a tad niche and alternative which is going to make it very difficult for her to win, unless she sells out at some point. I'm assuming that everyone will "grow" throughout the finals though. I'll stay tuned. Incidently, i think this forum is just terrific!

While I am partial to both girls, and think that both are vocally talented... I truly believe that Emelia has more potential and ability to be a 'pop-idol' then Ngariie. She has a great voice, but its a great performing voice... that jerky awkwardness of it that Dicko alludes too often I think wouldnt work so well on an album... and Emelia would definately out sell the girl.

In fact Emelia and Anthony would both out sell Ngariie and Liza... perhaps this is the method behind the judges choices.

But then perhaps since I major in marketing and advertising I am biased/slanted in my thinking?

Personally I blame bloody rock DJ Dan who doesnt belong in the competition... and who is going to flop majorly in the top12.

I predict this. Just watch. It will be spectacular. There will be no millsy... okay yeah but im fun and cheeky so you can still vote for me... cause the guy is a bit of an ass.

He will flop. Big time.

And of course when I turn out to be wrong you can ridicule me!

There is no comparison between courtney act and ngaiire!! Ngaiire was one of the best singers in the comp...I'm still in denial that she has left.

and who really is to blame? Hayley. Just cos some stylist got rid of your god awful brown eyeshadow doesn't mean I will forgive you for being a boring, skanky ho.
