A New Idol Blog For You To Read
Feeling adventurous? Then check out the TV Hits website. Why? Because it would appear that Idol Blog fever is catching, and they’ve developed one of their very own.
I’ll let you draw your own conclusions as to whether it’s brilliant or rubbish, but for those of you who can’t even be bothered clicking on the above link (you delightfully lazy scamps!), here’s an insight into their online Idol worshiping world. Allow me to reproduce the TV Hits re-cap of Monday night’s show.
Semi-finals: Group 1 - The Results
Monday 9 August, 9:20pm
It’s taken me around an hour to pick my jaw up off the floor and stop crying! Ngaiire! NGAIIRE!!!! Noooooooooo……
Oh Australia how can you do this to me? I’d completely forgotten the pain that this show causes me when great people get voted out.
But first - let me re-cap.
It’s our first ‘eviction’ show and already we’re managing to stretch it out for more than the allocated 30 mins.
Hayley made it through to the top 4 which i was pleasantly surprised at. She’s growing on me and tonight the make-up was even better than Sunday. She looks human now, and quite attractive. She must be so glad she drove to Sydney to audition for a second time after being rejected in Canberra!
Next up we pass over all the so-so people and come to the girl I’m going to call the tvhits.com.au Idol - Ngaiire. Yah! She’s in too!
Goodbye Meri, goodbye Anthony, goodbye to all the others whose names I have already forgotten (there’s only so much room in my brain and there are a lot of finalists!) and we come to the girl I unashamedly adore, Chanel Cole….
And she’s in! Despite choosing a weird song and some weird clothes Chanel has made it to the Top 4.
Then the final two. Smiley Ben vs evil Courtney…
It’s like watching the end of Big Brother 1 & 2. It’s the cute guy vs the really nice guy… and just like BB the nice guy wins! Courtney’s into the Top 4.
And I am completely stunned! WHAT THE ****!!!
So the Top 4 are Hayley, Ngaiire, Chanel and Courtney - but one is about to get knocked out.
So I figure - compared to the talent on those stools there is no way Courtney can compare. Come on, he was a bit sick on the night and his voice wasn’t at 100% but that’s just the luck of the draw.
And the first person through to the Top 12 is… Hayley! Yah!
And the second person through to the Top 12 is… Courtney?! What the…!?
Then the horror sinks in… either Chanel or Ngaiire is going home. My two favourite people IN THE WHOLE COMP!
So I’m thinking - bye bye Chanel. There’s no way Ngaiire is going…
buh-duh - how wrong am I!
The only saving grace of the whole night is the fact that we have a few weeks to the wildcard round - WHEN I WILL GO COMPLETELY BROKE VOTING FOR NGAIIRE!!!
And judging by Dicko’s comments (which could be heard in the background) she’s hopefully going to make it in as the Judges Choice like Cosima did last year.
Okay - I’m exhausted…

After watching "Inside Idol" (I may like my indie rock side, but i like to gripe about Idol too :P), I could not believe the reaction that the blonde girl (can't remember name) displayed when Ngaiire was kicked out and Chanel got in. How arrogant of her!
"NO WAY! NO WAY! NO WAY!" she muttered for the next 23748923748 seconds. Sure it came as a shock, but it seemed like she REALLY did not want her to get in.
I reckon, it's just another case of non-appreciation of other music, and she is an extreme case of it. Read my comment about a friend who gets on my nerves at times for things like this... http://www.ausculture.com/archives/000683.html
Yeah, someone like her probably doesn't deserve to win Idol. Well, I wouldn't care less whoever would win. She has already achieved DIVA status with that ignorant display, can she go any further?!

Oh, I agree whole heartly with you! Her name is Chole and she was a TOTAL diva. Can't wait until her arse gets voted out! How dare she question the sensational singing powers of our beloved Chanel. What a witch!
