Comment posting was getting unbearably slow.
I’ll spare everyone the technical details but there should be some dramatic reductions in the time it takes to post a comment.
Enjoy.

Blimey ! Is it natural, or is it EPO ?

Well, it does cheat in a few places. Hot topics are only updated every once-in-a-while too.

jeezus that was about 20-times faster than usual. Good Work mate.

Positive responses so far. Anyone else?

heh... personally there is no difference for me... sorry! But im liking the altered layout... except there is a problem with the footer being too wide (the white bground)
But then you are probably in the middle of tweaking it!!

Yeah, there is only so much I can hack the existing layout. I'm certainly not in any mood for a major redesign.
The extended footer size seems to be a "typo" with some of the pages themselves. It'll be gone soon.
As for comment posting being no faster, that seems strange. I guess if the site is slow already then you're not waiting on the comments but on page downloads.

Can I buy you. No... no really! You can do my site LOL. You are constantly tweaking this place... ahh I wish I had your stamina. I do like the new look. The blue down the edges focuses everything a bit more.

I don't like the way the latest comments listing isn't actually updated with the latest comments (at least immediately).

That seems to be a caching issue. I don't really want it to force a browser refresh so they display.
Unless that's what everyone wants?

Unless you're referring to the "latest comments" on the first page. In which case, that's not updated immendiately.
Does anyone else use that listing frequently?

Front page now shows the last 20 comments "in real time."
In other words, as soon as someone posts the front page will show it.

Yep, that's what I meant. Thanks.
